This TC3 earthquake rebuild in New Brighton, Christchurch presented us with, very sandy soil.

The lateral spread on the section posed the need for a waffle concrete rib raft slab on a gravel raft to a minimum depth of 800mm deep. The foundation itself was a work of full engineering surpassing the requirements, much to the satisfaction of our clients.

Our standard specifications and inclusions are above average, so the client was assured of getting more than quality in their home. With a few changes, such as a two person bath, and gas hot water, this home is exceptional in its high energy rating.

The build itself was completed in 16 weeks (including time allowed for demolition), and including external fences, paths and driveways. Sign off was done with minimal fuss, and our clients were able to move into their new home in time for a daughter’s wedding and for Christmas 2015. The house design concept was created by the clients. This freedom we allowed them in their design, and the flexibility when choosing their specifications and inclusions was just one of the reasons they selected Fusion Homes as their builder. Most people with rebuilds were offered a few sets of spec house plans to choose from and were allowed no further say in the design or the inclusions.

A large 4 car garage replaced the existing damaged garage. This was constructed with traditional timber framing

The house was constructed using the Metrapanel method.

This home and garage both feature Colour steel Maxx corrosive grade roofing, guttering and downpipes Exterior fixtures are stainless steel grade, as required by the NZ Building code for sea spray areas.

Shearmac Aluminium supplied the very smart window and door joinery, which of course is double glazed.

James Hardie Linea weatherboard provides a traditional and smart finish to the exterior of both the house and the garage.

The interior finish is superior, with smooth and level Metrapanel walls. No joins means minimal plastering. The Home is insulated with premium grade Polyurethane Spray Foam Insulation

This was an insulation upgrade< at no extra cost to the client. Fusion Homes partnered with NZ Foam to promote for Christchurch Earthquake rebuilds

Our client suffers from Asthma, so chose to add on a full HRV system throughout the home.
